Where Music Builds Belonging

Maria Gonzales enrolled her sons, Christian and Bradley, in Harmony Project’s trumpet class 11 years ago, little knowing it would become a cornerstone of their lives. Over the years, Harmony Project (HP) has not only provided her children with a high-quality music education but has also fostered a sense of community and belonging.

Maria found more than just a place for her children to grow musically. She discovered a supportive community of parents who understood her unique challenges as an immigrant, and a dedicated HP Community and Relational Engagement team that provided invaluable guidance and resources. "The CARE team provided so much support," Maria shared. "They helped me navigate challenges I didn't know how to handle alone."

For Christian, music was more than just notes and rhythms. It unlocked his confidence, revealed his voice, and helped him see his own potential. "Christian was a shy, hesitant boy," Maria recalls, "but music changed everything for him."

Together, Maria and her sons found a home at Harmony Project. A place where they could grow, learn, and connect.

“In a world filled with chaos, music offers a lifeline,” described Maria. “Let's give our children a chance to find peace and purpose through music.”

Maria’s story is just one example of how Harmony Project is changing lives. Please consider supporting today to help us provide these life-changing programs to thousands of children in underserved communities throughout Los Angeles.
