Meet the Estrella Sisters - Pasadena Music Trio

Marilyn, Sophia, and Jazmine are sisters who have been at the Pasadena Harmony Project site for four years. Combined they play a total of five instruments! These young artists show a true passion and dedication to their craft and love what they do.

Thanks to the power of music, the girls have an outlet they can pour their feelings and emotions into in order to produce something that they can be proud of. Music offers a beautiful escape to a new world on which they can leave their problems behind. Older sister Marilyn, 10, explained, “Harmony Project helps me feel calm because when I'm frustrated I listen to music and it calms me down."

Twins Sophia and Jazmine, 9, have an extra unique experience as they both play the viola, providing each other with support and laughter during class. The sisters' lives revolve around creating and listening to different kinds of music and experimenting with different sounds. “Whenever I go [to Harmony Project] I can listen to music and what other people are playing,” said Jazmine.

All three sisters play in the youth orchestra at our Pasadena site and have levitated towards string instruments. Marilyn plays both the guitar and cello. Sophia plays the viola, while Jazmine plays both the viola and violin.

Sophia sums it up best, “Being in Harmony Project with my sisters is cool!”
