Harmony Project Featured on Telemundo: Music Empowers South Los Angeles Students
Los Angeles, CA (Monday, March 31) – Harmony Project, a leading nonprofit providing free music education to underserved youth, was recently featured on Telemundo 52, highlighting its impactful music programming and 15-year partnership with the EXPO Center (Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks). The segment showcased how Harmony Project's programming empower students in the South Los Angeles community. In particular, its new mariachi program at the EXPO Park site was highlighted.
The interview featured Harmony Project EXPO Park’s assistant program manager, a student, and a EXPO Center representative. Each interviewee emphasized the transformative power of a high-quality music education in fostering confidence, creativity, and essential life skills for children. Harmony Project student Lea articulated that Harmony Project music classes helps relieve her school-related stress and being part of a group that shares the same passion has made her life more positive.
This media spotlight reinforces Harmony Project's dedication to providing accessible music education programs and its vital role in the South Los Angeles community. Without the support of the EXPO Center, a community pillar within Los Angeles, Harmony Project’s award-winning programming would not be possible.
"Telemundo's coverage underscores the positive impact of our collaboration with EXPO Center," said Natalie Jackson, Executive Director at Harmony Project. "We remain committed to unlocking student potential through culturally rich music experiences."
