Harmony Project Students Shine with Ángela Aguilar at Billboard Women in Music Gala

Los Angeles, CA (Thursday, April 3) – Last Saturday night at the YouTube Theater, ten talented Harmony Project students experienced a life-changing moment last Saturday, performing the classic “Cielito Lindo” alongside acclaimed singer Ángela Aguilar and the pioneering all-female mariachi group, Mariachi Reyna De Los Angeles, at the prestigious Billboard Women in Music 2025 Gala Awards.

This annual event, celebrating the achievements of women in music, also served as a powerful platform for messages of empowerment and solidarity. Ángela Aguilar’s performance, featuring our students, was a poignant tribute to the immigrant community, a cause close to her heart as the daughter of immigrants.

For Harmony Project, this was an amazing opportunity for our young artists. They gained invaluable experience performing on a national stage and learned the intricacies of preparing for a televised music event. This aligns perfectly with our mission to provide enriching, life-changing musical experiences to underserved children from under resourced communities or low-income families.

We are deeply grateful to Ángela Aguilar and the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) for making this unforgettable evening possible. This performance has not only boosted our students' confidence but also prepared them for future performances.

Harmony Project is committed to providing free music education and empowering young musicians throughout greater Los Angeles. This collaboration with Ángela Aguilar and Mariachi Reyna De Los Angeles underscores our dedication to creating life-changing musical opportunities. Through such experiences, we are not only nurturing the next generation of confident and skilled artists, but we are developing leaders.

This event is a great example of how music education empowers children and how mariachi music can be used to celebrate culture and community.
