JUBAS FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP FUND
HONOR THE JUBAS FAMILY WITH THE GIFT OF MUSIC.
Harmony Project is grateful to Janet and Marvin Jubas for establishing the Jubas Family Scholarship Fund. Janet, Program Director of Cognitive Communications serving children with autism and their families, and Marvin, an attorney, strongly believe in programs for educating children. Marvin sadly passed away in January 2023. Their admiration for the Banchiks and their desire to educate children inspired them to establish the scholarship fund.
Marvin and Janet have supported Harmony Project for many years; in fact Janet serves on the Harmony Project Board of Directors. Janet was intrigued by Harmony Project's research with Northwestern University’s Kraus Lab, documenting the significant positive impact intensive music training has on students’ developing brains.
Harmony Project's goals and values align with what she and Marvin believe. In 2015, when Janet and Marvin attended the scholarship interviews, they realized the positive impact Harmony Project has on at-risk students' lives. They were impressed with the students' communication skills, and inspired by the students' strength and tenacity in overcoming challenges. Through Janet and Marvin's generosity and kindness in establishing the Jubas Family Scholarship Fund, many more Harmony Project students will realize their dream of pursuing higher education. Harmony Project is grateful for their partnership and support.
